Hi All,

Just a quick couple of things for you.... Anyone going to the ICE Comic Convention in Birmingham UK this weekend, I'll be there wandering round as an "attending professional", so just walk up & say hi if you see me. Promise I won't bite! :D

Secondly, I've got an ever increasingly large pile of pages cluttering up the office so I'm starting an Ebay clear out which you can find at the following links if you're interested in spending some cash(including some of the new Halo pages from my recent Dark Horse Comics run) ;)……………

Carry on!
  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Winger - Better Days Are Comin'
  • Reading: Slash's Autobiography
  • Watching: Old seasons of 24
  • Playing: Not enough :/
  • Eating: Chocolate!
  • Drinking: Water

So Ian... Mr Big, or Racer X?

Mr. Johnson! Damn, you ask the tough questions don't you?! ;) Overall maybe Mr Big for the songs & having a better singer, but then you've only gotta look at stuff like Scarified Headbang!

First couple of David Lee Roth albums or Steve Vai solo? ;)

Well, I do like to get folk's little grey cells working :-)

I thought Skyscraper was a HUUUGE disappointment, but I loved Eat Em & Smile, so I would take that over Steve Vai solo. Never been that much into totally instrumental stuff, but I did love Jason Becker's instrumental material he did on the Shrapnel label.

To answer my own question, I'd take Racer X (Second Heat is probably my favorite album of the 80's alongside Operation Mindcrime), though that has probably as much to do with Bruce Bouillet's playing as it does Paul Gilbert's. Have you heard the 'The Scream album he & Jon Alderete did? Brilliant stuff, even  if not as shred-tastic as either Racer X or Mr Big.

Agree with you 200% about Skyscraper & I keep meaning to check out Jason Becker's stuff, can't believe I haven't. That said he plays some great stuff on Roth's  A Little Ain't Enough :) (Smile)

Second Heat is a blinding album.... If for nothing else than Scarified & the chorus riff in Living the Hard Way! Probably didn't get into Queensryche as much as I should have, but actually going to see Geoff tate's current version tomorrow night here...That should be interesting.

I played The Scream album to death when I bought it & still love it to this day. Bruce Bouillet's playing is perfect on it, plus it introduced me to John Corabi as well, so always gonna be thankful for that :) (Smile)  Gonna have to go put that on while I'm working now ;)

Thanks! :) Oh, I'd be all over a Colonial Marines book..... I know Dark Horse did publish a series way back in the early '90s. You should try & check it out.
